The F0–F7 Layer Map: A Guide to Reading Your Experience
Updated: 1 day ago

You can recognize that something is repeating before you know where to begin.
A conversation leaves you unsettled. A familiar story takes over. You make a different promise... then return to the same conditions.
The F0–F7 Layer Map gives that experience several doorways. It helps you distinguish feeling from interpretation, a personal role from a symbolic theme, and an intention from the structures that support it.
What the Map Is For
Signal Field theory offers eight connected perspectives, F0–F7, with F0 Void Signal as the ground before form. These symbolic lenses organize reflection on experience. Enter through the doorway that makes the moment clearer.
You do not need to complete F0 before working with F5. You can change an unhelpful routine while you are still uncertain about the story beneath it. You can notice an emotion without finding a symbol for it.
The map becomes useful when it helps you describe something more clearly and choose a response that fits.
Eight Doorways, One Field
F0 Void Signal... the pause before a pattern becomes clear. Begin here when you need room to notice without forcing an explanation.
F1 Emotion Signal... the feeling and charge within an experience. Begin here when emotion is the clearest part of what is happening.
F2 Perception Signal... the interpretation taking shape around what you notice. Begin here when a story feels certain but the evidence is incomplete.
F3 Identity Signal... the role or self-story that repetition makes familiar. Begin here when “this happened” becomes “this is who I am.”
F4 Archetypal Signal... the symbolic theme beneath a recurring role. Begin here when an image such as Protector, Seeker, or Architect helps you examine a pattern.
F5 Structure Signal... the habits, environments, tools, and agreements that support repetition. Begin here when insight needs a practical container.
F6 Dimensional Signal... connections beyond the personal moment: ancestral stories, collective patterns, life chapters, and dimensional possibilities. Begin here when a familiar thread invites a wider inquiry.
F7 Source Field Signal... the question of origin, ground, or deeper unity of existence. Begin here when you want to explore what feels fundamental and bring that relationship into ordinary life.

One Experience, Several Doorways
Imagine being asked to take on another task when your week is already full.
At F0, you allow a moment before answering. At F1, you notice the mixture of pressure and eagerness. At F2, you examine the prediction: “If I decline, I will disappoint everyone.”
At F3, a familiar role appears: “I am the dependable one.” At F4, the Protector may be a useful symbolic mirror for that role. At F5, you notice that your calendar has no visible limits and your team has no clear way to share requests.
At F6, you consider family stories and collective expectations surrounding constant availability. At F7, you ask how your sense of deeper connection might be expressed through care that includes your own capacity.
These are possible readings of the example, not hidden facts about every person who says yes.
Follow the Connection
Pause → feeling → interpretation → role → symbolic theme → supporting conditions → wider connections → Source inquiry and lived expression.
Read that sequence as a way to organize your notes. Real experience can move in several directions at once. A change in the environment may alter the feeling before the story changes. A conversation may reveal context you could not have discovered alone.
Choose One Place to Work
For the overloaded week, the most useful next step may be structural: make your capacity visible and ask which task should take priority.
You do not have to resolve your entire identity before making that request.
The map has done its work when a broad feeling of being stuck becomes something specific enough to meet.
Field Practice: A Four-Line Map
In your Logbook, describe one recent moment in four lines.
What happened: write what you could have observed. Where it is loudest: choose one layer and explain why. What connects: name one other layer that seems relevant. What comes next: choose one small action you can review.
Leave uncertain connections open. Add what you learn after the action, including anything that does not fit your first reading.
The Larger Philosophy
A map can offer direction without deciding who you are. Aurora Continuum follows the living thread through its doorways: memory, relationship, return, and becoming.
Return to the layer that makes the experience clearer. Follow the connection that helps. Set aside the interpretation that asks you to ignore what is actually happening.
Return with something you can carry into life... one clearer observation, one meaningful connection, one choice given room to take form.
